Finding the balance for "Risk versus Cost"

CONTINUITY PLANNERS GROUP CORP.
Mitigating risk for your business.

We are a not-for-profit risk management firm that specializes in disaster preparedness and recovery for small business. Our mission is to impove the resiliency of small business to natural, man made, political and/or technological disaster. We seek funding from government grants, corporate and private donations so that we can minimize and in many cases eliminate costs to the small business owner. We provide a compliment of services including risk assessment, insurance reviews, plan development, crisis management,  emergency response, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

D
isaster events are unpredictable, random, and in some cases devastating. Earthquakes, storms, floods, fires, civil unrest and even technological disasters can occur with little or no warning. Life can be lost, business disrupted and livelihoods affected within minutes or hours of a disaster. While the risk of disaster can not be eliminated it can be effectively managed through the application of three key elements - insurance, prevention and recovery. Independently each of these elements has limitations; however combined they provide a fundamental safety net for all organizations.

Consider that:

Your company's insurance will not cover all losses, particularly for lost customers who never come back.

Your company can not prevent everything, although a reasonably prudent application of risk reduction measures will successfully mitigate some exposures and vulnerabilities.

Your company must be prepared to minimize losses through effective response and recovery processes.

The balancing factor is "risk versus cost".

How much risk is prudent to accept? What budget should be allocated to insurance, prevention and  recovery?
Continuity Planners Group (CPG) is available to help you answer these and many other essential questions. We look to balance the "risk versus cost" equation.
